I still remember the time when the fireworks display went off at The Curve once the clock struck midnight.
It was a celebration of a new year. It was 2012.
Fast forward 12 months, we’re embracing the end of 2012.
Of course, some expected that the world would “end” in 2012, but I guess there’s more time for us on Earth! ;)
Well, I’m still wondering how has time passed by so quickly – especially this year. One moment I was anticipating an exciting year ahead, another moment I’m reflecting what has happened throughout 2012.
To be honest, the recollection of happenings were vague until I browsed through my photos. People say a photo is worth a thousand words, I’d opt to say… a photo is worth a collection of memories.
So, here are my 12 notable moments from every month in 2012…
In January 2012, I drove the Honda Insight.
It has never come across my mind that I’ll be invited to test drive a Honda Insight car. I’ve always admired the beauty of Honda cars, despite not getting one myself.
In February 2012, I fell in love.
Pretty self-explanatory, right? ;)
In March 2012, I saw hot air balloons with my very own eyes for the first time.
I’ve heard a lot about the Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in the previous years, and I finally got my lazy ass off the couch and drove it to Putrajaya.
In April 2012, I produced a video in-conjunction with Mother’s Day with a blogger-initiated group called FrapTV!
It was an interesting experience, particularly the skills and knowledge in video shooting. Also, I’ve enhanced my acting skills, I think. ;)
In May 2012, I watched my musician idol, Kenny G perform live in Genting Highlands.
Ever since I started playing the saxophone during my high school days, Kenny G was a phenomena. Sometimes, I wish I’m still playing my Soprano Saxophone.
In June 2012, I ran a marathon for the first time at the Standard Chartered KL Marathon.
Although it was a 5km marathon, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. It’s one of my goals at the start of the year. :)
But I side-tracked after this run. Discipline #fail. Oh well.
In July 2012, I was a guest speaker at Nuffnang Blogopolis – a conference put on for bloggers, by bloggers.
From facing the computer screen to facing a live audience, the opportunities provided by Nuffnang are just amazing. I was assigned to the topic “Idea Sourcing & Content Creation” where I shared some tips for generating blogging content.
In August 2012, I bought the most expensive gadget ever – the New iPad.
No, it wasn’t for myself – it was a birthday gift to my mum. :)
In September 2012, I signed up for a credit card, like finally.
Discipline is key, I would say. It doesn’t matter if I own a credit card or not, as long as I spend within my means and pay up on time. The points collected are the bonus.
In October 2012, I left my job to move on to another job.
To be honest, I didn’t see myself leaving my previous job. I thought of staying there for quite some time, until an opportunity came knocking on my door. I took the plunge and it has been an exciting adventure since then. :)
In November 2012, I won possibly the best gift ever – an Instant Camera!
Best, you say? This shows how “lucky” I am whenever it comes to contests and lucky draw. The Instax Mini costs about RM200+ and all I did to win it was a jump pose.
In December 2012, I became an Assistant Manager.
I didn’t see this coming so soon. In fact, it came as a surprise and I’m glad that my efforts have paid off! Nevertheless, there’s always room for improvements for self-development.
So yeah, it has been a great 2012! I hope it has been a wonderful year for everyone out there as well. Let’s hope for a better 2013!
Ahh… this is what I wish I could do every single day. It’s call LIFE! #daydream
Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all kenwooi.com readers a Happy New Year 2013! Enjoy while it’s still not the end of the world! ;)
