It is said that no journey to Thailand is complete without a Thai massage. Therefore, it is a MUST then one travels there.
So during our Phuket-Krabi trip, we did some online research and found out about this interesting massage parlour called Attarak at Krabi, or also known as Let’s Sea, Let’s Relax.
Quick Review: Attarak is slightly more expensive than other massage parlours, but the good environment, service and massage are worth paying for. It is highly recommended!
After reading the many good online reviews, we decided to add it into our Krabi travel itinerary.
We didn’t know the exact location before the trip. But fortunately we discovered that it was right opposite of the hotel we stayed at, Aonang Cliff Beach Resort.
Travel Tip: For those interested in getting a massage at Attarak, it’s located on the prime street of Ao Nang. The signage is not visible from afar, but it’s directly opposite of McDonald’s and Starbucks.
Attarak has a small entrance leading to the basement section of the building.
It opens daily at 10.00am and the last massage session of the day is at 9.00pm. Going there during the day doesn’t require any reservation, but it’s recommended to make a reservation at night as there will be many customers.
After taking the stairs leading down to the basement, we were greeted by the receptionist. They were friendly and were able to explain the different types of massages available.
The most common ones are the Traditional Thai massage and Aromatherapy massage. The duration for each massage varies between 1 hour to 2 hours.
We really wanted to try out the Aromatherapy massage, but since we were badly sun burnt after the Krabi 4 Island Tour, we had to opt for a more suitable massage – the Aloe Vera Massage.
It was rather unfortunate, but it was a valuable Thai tip learned – if you’re planning to get a massage, don’t get too sun burnt.
Here are the prices for a Traditional Thai massage. It’s the cheapest service provided by Attarak.
The Aromatherapy massage’s prices are slight more expensive as aromatic essence will be used. Therefore the body will end up being oily.
This is the massage we went for, the Aloe Vera massage for Sunburn with Pure Aloe Vera. Accordingly to the receptionist, it’s suitable for those with major sunburn.
During the Aloe Vera massage, the masseur will be applying aloe vera on the entire body to reduce dryness and this provides moisture to the skin. The pressure on the muscles, joints, and ligaments will be minimum.
Before the massage, the masseur washed and scrubbed the feet with soap. The purpose is quite direct – to get rid of smelly feet. ;)
After that, we proceeded to the massage cubicle.
The place is clean, comfortable, and presentable.
Since we’re gonna get aloe vera all over the body, we were asked to strip and put on a kinky black underwear panty…
Yes, nothing else but this. If a dude gets turned on, the erection would be so obvious. Dayumm!
Anyway, the masseur was fairly good and friendly. The light background music made the environment even more conducive.
Overall, it’s a hidden gem located on the prime street of Ao Nang. It may be slightly more expensive, but it’s value-for-money.
I’ll definitely get another massage at Attarak when I visit Krabi again. :)
