The Man at Shell

The Man at Shell

To travel around, one needs to have a car.

Naturally, we need fuel up to ensure that we get to our destinations. I’ve been driving for close to 8 years now – and Shell has been my usual go-to destination to get my car fuelled.

The great thing about Shell is that it’s not just their network of petrol stations. If you don’t know by now, Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies in over 70 countries around the world. Their innovative approach ensures they are ready to help tackle the challenges of the new energy future.

By the way, there was a point in time when I wanted to work with Shell. I applied for a job at Shell and successfully made it to the Shell Recruitment Drive about 5 years ago. However, I pursued another career journey that has led me to where I am right now. :)

Nevertheless, Shell has been always close to home. In fact, close to most of our homes!

One thing that always amazes me at this particular Shell petrol station where I always go to is the service provided by the on-ground staff. As you drive up to the fuelling bay, there is always someone in red and yellow waiting to assist you. I’ve been to other stations before and usually it’s self-service.

It’s not just once or twice, but almost every single time.

There’s this one service attendant whom I have started to take notice of because he has been the one who always assist me whenever I’m there. He usually offers to fill the tank and subsequently wipe both the windscreen and rear window.

Today, on my usual routine to fuel up my car… hey, it’s him again! I’ve seen him many times, but this was the first time I decided to take a photo of him. It’s nice to see him smiling for the camera.

Hence, I thought to myself, I should get to know him better – so why not start by getting to know his name.

Ladies and gentlemen, his name is Bellal.

This is the man I’ve frequently refer to as… the man at Shell.

Do you fuel up with Shell and have a personal Shell story? Let me know! :D #StationStories #ShellKita
